Jonathan McKay Chairman
As chairman of the board of directors and interim-CEO, Jonathan McKay brings more than 30 years of thought leadership and industry expertise to Oblicore.
In addition to helping drive Oblicore's vision and strategy, McKay currently serves as chairman of two UK-based software companies, Exony and Tribold. He is also a non-executive director of Celltick, the world leader in active content discovery applications and mobile interactive broadcast, also a JVP company. In addition, McKay is also an independent angel investor and limited partner with two venture capital firms. Previously, McKay was an advisor to the board of the leading UK-based OSS software provider, Cramer Systems. Earlier in his career McKay was Vice President and General Manager of Sun Microsystems' Tools and Integration business unit. He joined Sun as a result of the company's $700 million acquisition of Forte, where he held the role of COO and CMO and was responsible for driving product and market strategy. Prior to Forte, McKay ran European sales operations for Sybase and held management positions with StorageTek and Sperry Univac.
Roel PieperDirector
Roel Pieper founded Favonius Ventures in 1999 (originally as Insight Ventures Europe). Formerly, Pieper was an Advisory Board Member of Insight Venture Partners since its inception in 1995.
Pieper has over 25 years of operating experience with software and technology companies. He was Senior Vice President of Strategy at Philips N.V. from 1998-1999. Prior to that, he was the President and CEO of Tandem Computers Inc., the largest fault-tolerant computer vendor with revenues in excess of $2 billion in 1995, backed by Kleiner Perkins. While at Tandem, he was responsible for a turnaround initiative that resulted in a trade sale to Compaq Computer Corporation. That transaction resulted in the creation of over $3 billion of market value during his tenure. Prior to becoming CEO of Tandem in 1995, he was CEO of UB Networks, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tandem, which provides data communication products. UB Networks was sold during his tenure to Newbridge Networks for $150 million. From 1990 to 1993, he was CEO of Unix Systems Laboratories ("USL"), a company that developed and marketed the Unix operating system, a former AT&T subsidiary. While at USL, he drove the first official spinout from AT&T, which resulted in a trade sale to Novell, Inc. for $323 million. Pieper began his software career at Software AG where he spent 10 years in the US and Germany (from 1980 to 1990) during which time he became Chief Technology Officer of the company. Software AG is considered one of the earliest software companies in Europe and at one time was the second largest global software company. He was formerly a Director of Computer Associates (CA) from 1999-2002 and Veritas Software (VTRS) from 1991-1998 (venture-backed by Accel Partners and USL), and several other technology companies. In 2000, he was selected to chair the restart of Lernout and Hauspie, representing equity shareholders including Microsoft and Intel. He was also an early investor in Lightstream (sold to Cisco), Globeset (sold to Trintech), Seebeyond (NASDAQ: SBYN) and Tivo (NASDAQ: TIVO). He has advised the Dutch government on technology related projects. In addition to Oblicore, he holds a board seat on a young software services innovator, Lost Boys/Icon Media Lab, headquartered in Stockholm. Pieper received his doctorate degree in computer science and mathematics from the University of Delft, Netherlands, where he graduated summa cum laude. Today, he is a part-time Professor of computer sciences and business administration at the University of Twente, Netherlands.
Yair SafraiDirector
Yair Safrai co-founded Concord Ventures and served as Vice President of the Nitzanim Venture Fund, where he was actively involved in all aspects of the fund's growth and success.
Partner at Concord, he specializes in information technologies with emphasis on Internet-related, software and communication companies. Prior to joining Nitzanim, Safrai was in charge of business development at BVR Technologies, a high-tech company specializing in aviation simulation. Prior to BVR, Safrai held key consulting, marketing and business development positions at IGS Inc., a high-tech start-up, and P.O.C., a leading marketing and strategy consulting firm in Israel. Safrai holds a B.Sc. cum laude in Economics and Management from the University of Tel-Aviv, an M.A. in International Studies from the Lauder Institute of the University of Pennsylvania, and an MBA from the Wharton Business School. Safrai served as jet fighter pilot in the Israeli Air Force.

During the past year, Gadi served as CEO of Axerra, a pioneer of the wireless backhaul over Ethernet, and was responsible for reorganizing the company, including appointing international General Managers and a COO. Prior to that, Gadi spent four years as CEO of Radvision (NASDAQ: RVSN), leading the company from loss to profit, doubling revenues and tripling share price. Prior to Radvision, Gadi served as VP International Sales at Lucent Softswitch after playing a key role in Lucent's acquisition of Excel Switching for $1.7B. Gadi's experience in global management of sales, marketing and operations, as well as in leading both sides of M&A transactions and IPO processes is a major contribution to the fast growing companies in JVP's portfolio.
