Oblicore Names Jonathan McKay as Chairman of Board of Directors
Technology Industry Veteran to Contribute Strategy Expertise to Service Level Management Software Leader
COLUMBIA, Md., April 25, 2006 - Oblicore, a leading provider of Service Level Management software and best practices, today announced the addition of Jonathan McKay as chairman to its board of directors. A 30-year technology management veteran, McKay will provide strategic counsel to Oblicore on product development and strategy processes as the company continues its rapid growth.
"Jonathan McKay’s expertise and strategic guidance has helped propel a number of innovative software companies to greater success," said Laurel Bowden, general partner, JVP and a member of Oblicore’s board of directors. "His deep experience, spanning product strategy, sales and marketing, and international operations make him an excellent addition to lead our board as chairman and a valued asset for the entire Oblicore executive team."
"Driven by the explosive growth of outsourcing and the relentless desire to reduce costs, businesses around the world are struggling to effectively measure and improve the performance of service delivery," said McKay. "Based on the success it has already achieved with key customers such as BT, ING and T-Systems, Oblicore’s opportunity for growth in this market is huge. I am very excited to play a key role in helping Oblicore become the provider of choice for Service Level Management software and best practices. "
McKay currently serves as chairman of two UK-based software companies, Exony and Tribold. He is also a non-executive director of Celltick, the world leader in active content discovery applications and mobile interactive broadcast, also a JVP company. In addition, McKay is also an independent angel investor and limited partner with two venture capital firms. Previously, McKay was an advisor to the board of the leading UK-based OSS software provider, Cramer Systems. Earlier in his career McKay was vice president and general manager of Sun Microsystems' Tools and Integration business unit. He joined Sun as a result of the company’s $700 million acquisition of Forte, where he held the role of COO and CMO, and was responsible for driving product and market strategy. Prior to Forte, McKay ran European sales operations for Sybase and held management positions with StorageTek and Sperry Univac.
